WHERE TO FIND
1000 Trans-Canada Hwy, Golden
About this location
When you enter the Golden Visitor Center grounds, you will see cultural expressions that represent the Indigenous Nations of this area. Each nation, the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, and Métis Nation Columbia River Society, has created a creative display to connect its culture with curious visitors and locals.
The Ktunaxa Nation display was installed in the summer of 2024. The project combines a story-telling video—the perspective of a Ktunaxa as told by Janice Alpine, the Business Development Officer of Tourism Engagement for the Ktunaxa Nation—and a collage photo that connects the past, present, and future of the Ktunaxa People. It also includes the Ktunaxa Homelands map with place names and welcome language.
